The Oakland Raiders are gearing up for a big game in Week 6 of the NFL season, as the team will take on division rival and undefeated 5-0 team the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and it will be at Arrowhead Stadium, one of the toughest places to play in the league and the game will be at 1 pm on CBS.

The Raiders are coming off of a victory against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday night and they have won their last game after losing the previous two to the Washington Redskins and the Denver Broncos and those came after a win against the Jaguars. The team is playing much better on defense compared to last season after making a number of solid signings and the team is ranked ninth in rushing yards despite dealing with injuries, as quarterback Terrelle Pryor has been very solid. The Chiefs are 5-0 and playing much better under Andy Reid and the team will be looking for win number six against the Raiders in an AFC West matchup.

Here is a look back on the team in 2013, and they are 2-3 to start the season. The Oakland Raiders opened up their preseason with a home game against the Dallas Cowboys and after getting the first win of 2013 early on, Dennis Allen said he was happy the way the team performed but that there is still plenty of room for improvement moving forward as the preseason moves into the second week of the schedule.

The Raiders are looking for improvement on both sides of the ball after going just 4-12 last season and after adding Matt Flynn at quarterback to replace Carson Palmer, Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie feel that the team can be much more consistent. Last year the team ranked eighth in passing but only 28th in rushing yards per game and Allen is hoping to fix that after adding Rashad Jennings and rookie Latavius Murray behind Darren McFadden this offseason.

McFadden is entering a contract year and after missing time in each of his last six seasons, McKenzie and Allen are hoping that he can play in more than 13 games and will finally gain over 1,000 yards on the ground again after doing it in 2010. The team has spoken with him about an extension, but McFadden may want to bet on himself for a big pay day on the market and if he can stay healthy, he likely will get that from a team The Raiders looked very good in spots during their preseason game against the Cowboys, but they also showed some potential weaknesses, including on defense.

Matt Flynn was so-so in his Raiders debut and Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin played the most snaps along with Tyler Wilson and while the first preseason game was nothing spectacular, Flynn is going to be the starter once the season begin after the team traded for him. Pryor Went 6 for 10 and passed for 88 yards and an interception and if he plays well the rest of the way he could be the backup behind Flynn over Wilson, who was taken in the first round of the draft.

The Raiders have had a few tough seasons out in the AFC West and the team will be looking to make the playoff jump after adding a number of new players this offseason. The team is planning on using a new running scheme and after bringin on Rashad Jennings, Charles Woodson, Kevin Burnett, Mike Jenkins and Tracy Porter, there is much more talent on the team.
