The Cardinals are nothing to laugh at and the 49ers will have to come out charging against their NFC West rival. Both teams are 3-2, though the 49ers are in second place in the division. However, if they are not careful, a loss would drop them to 3-3 and the Cardinals would take over second place.
The 49ers are coming off a huge win against a Super Bowl contending Houston Texans team. The 49ers, though, creamed J.J. Watt and the Texans, destroying them 34-3. For the second straight game, the 49ers offense lit up the scoreboard, scoring more than 30 points. They had defeated their division rival St. Louis rams 34-11 in Week 4.
Look for the 49ers' running game to charge their offense and their secondary to charge their defense. The run is sixth best in the league as Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore are leading the way in San Francisco as the team is averaging 140 rushing yards per game. The pass defense is allowing less than 188 passing yards per game, which will probably get in the way of Larry Fitzgerald.
The 49ers are looking to make the Super Bowl once again. Anything less would be considered a failure. Tune in as a young Kaepernick, who is still familiarizing himself with the league, steps up to face one of the stingiest football teams in the league. The Cardinals are only allowing 79 yards per game on the ground (3) and 19 points per game (10th).
It will be interesting to see which of these two teams surfaces as the winner, though the 49ers have the advantage since they will play at home.
