The Cardinals and Dodgers will treat us to what should be another great NLCS matchup. We witnesses how evenly matched these clubs are as it took 13 innings to settle score. The Cardinals ultimately walked off the field with a huge hit from Carlos Beltran.

Pitching should dominate the headlines tomorrow morning as Clayton Kershaw and Michael Wacha take the ball Saturday evening at Busch Stadium. Kershaw has been dominant all year long, however, the Cardinals will probably not be too intimidated when facing the lefty.

In two starts made this season, the Cardinals owned Kershaw. They were his toughest opponents in 2013, posting an 0-2 record with a 4.15 ERA, his highest against any team this season. He pitched 13 innings, allowing six earned runs. He pitched against them on May 26, received two quick runs of support from the Dodgers, then gave up four earned runs in the next six innings, losing the lead and the game. His next start against the Cardinals was in August. Here, he was in pitcher's duel with Joe Kelly, yesterday's starter. Kershaw pitched well, surrendering only two earned runs in six innings pitched, but the Dodgers offense only scored a run in this game, as the Cardinals won 5-1.

Wacha just pitched his first playoff game and just when it seemed like the rookie could not experience another first, he will face the Dodgers for the first time in his career. The pressure will be on and the lights will be bright (though the game will be played during the day). Wacha is coming off a dominant performance where he shut down the Pittsburgh Pirates though 7.1 innings, allowing only one earned run.

The Cardinals would love another similar performance in Game 2 of the NLCS. However, the Dodgers will refuse to head back home down 0-2 in the series. They have the right man on the mound as Kershaw has been terrific in the 2013 postseason.

Which starter will rise to the occasion? It's Kershaw vs. Wacha, Dodgers vs. Cardinals in Game 2 of the NLCS.
