The tenth-ranked LSU Tigers are playing some of the best football in recent memory of the program. While the team has always been known for their stand-up defense, the offense under quarterback Zach Mettenberger is one of the most productive in all of college football. However, the Florida Gators have one of the strongest defenses in the NCAA and could give the Tigers a run for their money.

It their first six games, LSU has topped 400 yards and scored at least 35 points, the first in school history. In last Saturday's win against Mississippi State, LSU put up 563 yards of total offense, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter. Mettenberger has excelled this season, ranking ninth in the nation. His 190.1 passer rating is fourth-best, while he has a 68.8 completion percentage. LSU is riding behind their offense, but florida has the defense to slow them down.

Florida has allowed just 217.0 yards per game, the second-fewest in the country. The issue with the Gators' defense, they have yet to play a fast-moving offense like LSU. They defeated the three worst teams in the SEC, but against ranked opponents they struggle.

First-year starter Tyler Murphy has picked up the Gators' offense since the loss of Jeff Driskel. Murphy is putting up night numbers with a 181.5 passer rating. The Tigers have been vulnerable on defense this season. After being ranked in the top five for the past few seasons, LSU is surrendering an average of 466.3 yards per game in the SEC.
