Oct 06, 2013 02:36 PM EDT

The Carolina Panthers had a bye last week, but the game on Sunday couldn't come soon enough for Cam Newton and company, as the team defeated the NY Giants two weeks ago 38-0 and they are hoping that momentum carries over against the Arizona Cardinals on the road at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Panthers are 1-2 this season after opening with losses to the seattle Seahawks and the Buffalo Bills and now they will get the chance for a second straight win as they travel to Arizona. This will be the first of two straight road game against the Cardinals and then the Vikings and it starts a stretch of three of four games on the road, as the team will play the Rams at home before travelling to Florida to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team has a stretch of three very tough games after that, with the Atlanta Falcons at home and then the team will travel to play the San Francisco 49ers before hosting the New England Patriots in a huge Monday night football matchup.

The second half of the season has a high amount of divisional matchups for the Panthers and the team could be in the mix by then if it gets past that hard stretch. The team has a road game against Miami before playing at home against the Buccaneers and then that starts a brutal stretch with two games against the New Orleans Saints sandwiched around a game against the NY Jets. The final game of the season will be a divisional game on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Arizona Cardinals have had an up and down start to the season while alternating losses and wins to open the year 2-2 after losing to the Rams and winning against the Lions and now the team will play the Panthers. The Cardinals are about to hit a very tough stretch after the Panthers game, as they play on the road against the San Francisco 49ers before playing at home against the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons. The team then has a bye and some tough games in the second half of the season includes the Colts, Texans as well as two games at the end against the Seattle Seahawks and the SF 49ers.
