Game Time: 1 p.m. ET

TV Channel- Where to Watch? MLB Network

Parents! Beware! Children might play hookie, especially if you gave them your credit card for their birthdays. Kid probably bought tickets for himself and some friends.

As you can see, it's an early start on Friday. People will be at work, teenagers in school and some will be in the processing of waking up after a crazy Thursday night partying. Cardinal fans had plenty to cheer about yesterday after their easy victory over the Pirates in Game 1 of the NLDS. There was no competition on Thursday evening in St. Louis as a wild A.J. Burnett could not find his stuff early on in this game.

However, unlike the Pirates who advanced to the next round after their first postseason victory, the Cardinals have to play on and close out a series. They have two more games to go and they will send Lance Lynn to the mound.

On the hill for the Pirates, they will depend on the young arm of Gerrit Cole to keep them truly alive in this series. Cole has been stupendous, incredible and a blessing for the Pirates in 2013. In his first season in the majors, Cole stepped up when it mattered most, winning his last four starts in the regular season as the Pirates were feuding with the Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds, trying to stay in the playoff race.

The Cardinals have now won five straight games dating back to their regular season meetings. With a win today, they could almost guarantee their passing to the next round, the NL Championship Series.
