After one bad performance, Houston Texans fans were prepared to give up on Matt Schaub. After a last-minute loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Texans fans went as far as to burn the quarterback's jersey in the parking lot after the game. Not only that, but Schaub has been hearing hate all week on social media. As the team prepares to face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Schaub is tuning out all the critics.

If Texans fans attempt to tweet at Schaub now, they will realize his Twitter account has been deactivated. Not a big social media fan in the first place, Schaub said it was just a way to tune out the nonsense and put a bad performance behind him.

"You don't have time to look at the rearview mirror, good or bad," Schaub said, via the Houston Chronicle. "You have to have a short-term memory, or you're going to be affected. That's not the way I am. That's not the way this team is. "I've been around (criticism) enough that you just tune it out. You don't even pay attention to it. You just go out and cut it loose."

Schaub laughed off the reports that a fan burned his jersey in the parking lot after the loss. The quarterback simply said that by the end of the season, he will want that No. 8 jersey back. Despite the short-term memory, rumors began to swirl that the Texans were considering a change at quarterback. Backups like TJ Yates were apparently in the picture, but head coach Gary Kubiak is denying all claims the Houston is attempting to get rid of Schaub sometime soon.

"He's our quarterback," Kubiak sai, via ESPN.com. "I believe in him. He's a strong kid, but it's going to be a tough week. I don't see a lack of confidence. Poor decision-making, some he had to handle and some we can help him with."

It was reported earlier that Houston could cut Schaub loose now without any financial harm done. The quarterback has no more guaranteed money coming in for the 2013 season, making him an easy release. Kubiak said that is not happening. Schaub is the team's quarterback and one bad play will not change that.
