Miami Heat Rumors: LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony Cut Off Free Agency Discussion, Dwyane Wade Not Discussing Future as Championship Priority in 2013

The players cannot ignore the questions. With one of the biggest free agency summers approaching, those involved cannot ignore the media prying into their pending decisions. However, players like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony are not interested in giving out any details. During the NBA Media Day, both players denied answering any questions about their future.

James was the first to deny report's questions about what will happen when he can opt out of his time with the Miami Heat. The NBA MVP was not interested in diving into his future, instead staying focused on the Miami Heat's upcoming title defense.

"You guys have to ask the questions," James said, via ESPN.com. "But I'm not going to address it. Once we get to that point [in June], then I'll address it. But I don't think it's appropriate right now. My concern is putting our team in a position to win another championship. That's my only goal, that's my only mind frame right now."

James is entering the fourth year of his six-year contract, with a clause that will allow him to test free agency this summer. This type of response to the media is not uncommon for James. He went through the process three years ago with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He addressed the media once and then shut down the topic for the remainder of the year.

Anthony is following the same path as James with his upcoming free agency. The New York Knicks star is likely going to be the top priority of team's like the Los Angeles Lakers. He has gone on to deny he is leaving New York and has said he plans on staying with the Knicks for a long time. When asked about next summer, Anthony responded, "I'm not doing that. When that time comes, I'll deal with that."

Dwyane Wade is another upcoming free agent. While his future is not being as highly speculated, he is being forced to answer questions on James' behalf. The point guard is not about to get into other player's futures, simply saying that he believes everyone on the Heat are happy right now and that the media attention needs to die down.

"LeBron James' decision is LeBron James' decision," Wade said. "Whether I'm healthy or whether I'm not healthy, he's going to make a decision that's best for him and his family. Don't try to put that pressure on me. Stop that right now."

For now, the Heat are concentrated on living up to the expectations they put on themselves in 2010. They have two championships to their name and they hope there are more to come.
