The team has won three of four games and are 3-1 this season after losing Michigan 41-30 in the second week and now they are coming off a tough win over the Spartans at 17-13 after winning 31-24 over Purdue. The matchup is a top 25 game and the Irish are ranked number 22 in the nation, while the Sooners are ranked 14th in the nation. The team is gaining over 400 yards per game and while the defense is not playing as well as last season, they played well down the stretch against the Spartans.

The team is allowing over 20 points per game this season after being in the top part of the nation last year and the offense isn't scoring as much either with over 26 points per game, but it has been enough to win the past two games. The team plays against Arizona State next and then has a tough game against USC. While the Trojans aren't playing as well as in past years, those rivalry games are always tough and this time the game will be in Notre Dame Stadium and not out in LA.

The team then plays on the road against high powered rushing attack Air Force and then is home against Navy before heading on the road again to play against Pitt. The team is home against BYU and fi the team can stay undefeated through the season, they should be in solid position in the top 10 heading into the final game and that could be very hard to win, as it's a road game against Stanford, one of the best teams in the nation and they are currently ranked fifth in the nation in the top 25.

The Irish are ranked 32nd in the nation in passing yards per game and 99th in rushing yards and are 45th in points against this season. Oklahoma is 3-0 this season and needs to continue winning, as they have some tough games ahead on the schedule as well with Notre Dame coming before TCU at home and then the team has the always huge game against Texas and even with the Longhorns in some disarray, the game could be a tough one to get through.

The team plays next against Kansas and then home against Texas Tech before playing on the road against Baylor. The team then will play against Iowa State before going on the road for the final two games against Kansas State and Oklahoma State and that game could be a big one in the conference to end the year. The game on Saturday has Bob Stoops and Brian Kelly going head to head and both teams need to win.
