The America's Cup is one of the oldest sporting events in the world and the Auld Mug is one of the most coveted trophies and on Wednesday both will be decided in San Francisco, as Oracle Team USA and Emirates Team New Zealand will face off in Race 19 to decide who wins the glory.

The two teams are tied at 8-8 after a dramatic and controversial Cup, as weather and penalties have kept things from finishing up and the Americans are also trying to complete a historic comeback. The team went down 8-1 early in the event and has been crawling back since, winning two races on Tuesday to put them in position to win the whole thing.

The America's Cup is over 160 years old and this is the 34th running of the event and after a record streak was broken back in the day, Larry Ellison got his team together to win it back in 2010 and this event has been the end point ever since. The winner picks the terms and he made it in San Francisco and chose the new style of boats and while the Emirates Team New Zealand team obviously got off to an amazing start, going up 8-1, the Americans never gave up and now they are at 8-8 with the final race coming up. The team battled winds on Tuesday to win two races and the event is going on longer now than any other before due to delays.

On top of that, the best of 17 event is extended to 19 races since the US team was docked points entering the event, making everyone not too happy, but now they are on the brink of getting the victory. Getting so close and losing will be tough for both teams, but the Kiwi team may end up feeling worse, as they have spent all week knowing they are one win away from the cup, but that could be what their downfall is.

The Americans would pull off the biggest upset in the history of the event with a win and Ellison has been all-in from the start, as he even missed his company's keynote address to be there after things went long. The Americans are probably a bit miffed, as they have won 10 races but have just eight points after being penalized early, but all that is behind them now as they push forward to try and win the race.

Ellison's team made changes during the event to get things back on track and clearly that has worked and now the Auld Mug will be on the line and it is considered one of the most prized trophies in sports. The event has been delayed due to winds during the week, but the weather appears good enough on Wednesday to get the race in and if winds hold it could complete on time.
