Denver Broncos Rumors: Peyton Manning On Pace To Fifth MVP Award?

Sep 24, 2013 09:34 AM EDT

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning continues to make things appear ridiculously easy after leading his squad to roll over the Oakland Raiders 37-21 during Monday Night Football.

Manning was phenomenal as he went 32 for 37 for 374 yards to put his name in the record books.

Manning's 12 touchdown passes this season are one more than New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's old record for the first three games, which he set in 2011. Manning has still yet to throw an interception, which mirrors a record held by Philadelphia's Michael Vick, who also threw 12 touchdowns before his first pick in 2010.

''You see flashes of good things,'' Manning said. ''When we're executing and not making mistakes, we can go the distance. We can go 80 yards, take advantage of a short field.''

Thanks to Manning's play the Broncos have now tied their franchise record-tying 14th consecutive regular-season victory. The first 11 in the streak were the last 11 games of the 2012 season. The only other 14-game winning streak by the Broncos occurred during the 1997-98 season.

"We get to play with one of the greatest quarterbacks and football players to ever play the game," said tight end Julius Thomas, who caught one of the touchdowns. "He's great. There's no other way to cut it up or slice it."
