Reggie Bush remains the biggest question for the Detroit Lions as the team heads into Washington to face the Redskins. The running back was injured in last week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals after taking a helmet to the knee in the second quarter. He did not return to the game, but the team remained optimistic after an MRI revealed no structural damage. While Bush was on the practice field Friday, there is a good chance the Lions will hold him out of Week 3 action.

Fantasy owners should prepare because this decision will likely not be made until pre-game warmups. Throughout the week, Bush has remained optimistic that he will beo n the field come Sunday. However, Detroit is playing it optimistic with their big free agent signing. The team wants Bush for the long haul and could play it safe.

The Detroit Free Press reported that Bush wore a sleeve on his knee during practice and looked injury-free on the field. While he seems likely to play against the Redskins, his carries could see a big drop this week. In the first game of the season, Bush was on fire.He put up 191 yards while also catching a 77-yard touchdown pass. He slowed up in Week 2 with just 25 yards on nine carries, but he also did not play past the second quarter.

The smarter option is to pick up Joique Bell off waivers. Bell is the primary backup in Detroit and is good-to-go in place of the veteran should he see a drop in carries or not play at all. The Lions have been trying to find a way to work in Bell more with the offense and this is a good chance to see what the second year back has to offer. So far through two games, Bell has 56 yards of 14 attempts and two touchdowns.

This will be a judgement call to fantasy owners. The Redskins have allowed opponents to rush an average of 201.0 yards against them. Detroit running backs could see a lot of action on Sunday. While it feels like Bush could be his normal self on the field, Bell is the better option to start based on playing time.
