The Cleveland Browns pulled off a stunning trade on Wednesday, moving running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a first round pick and now the team is looking to sign Willis McGahee as a free agent.

According to CBS Sports, the Browns are looking to sign a veteran running back since they only have Bobby Rainey left after the Richardson deal and now they want a new starter for a short-term deal until they get another chance to snag a solid starting running back. Richardson is a tough runner and the team opted to try and sign him over other names like Michael Turner and Joe McKnight, who are also free agents. The team decided to move on from Richardson and now the Colts get themselves a top running back and now they have two of the top three picks from the 2012 draft.

The Colts were in desperate need of a running back after losing Vick Ballard for the season and now they have a legitimate starting running back. Last season Richardson rushed for over 900 yards as a rookie and scored 11 touchdowns and he has also been a force out of the backfield in the passing game and that could be huge for the Colts going forward this season. The team's offense runs through Andrew Luck and now they have another elite talent to put in the backfield with Luck.

McGahee was injured last season at the end of the year and he was released by the Broncos after the team opted to go younger with backs like Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman and he comes to the team after gaining over 700 yards and four touchdowns while starting in nine games for the team and now he will get the chance to get back in the game.

McGahee is a short-term solution for the Browns and now the team has moved on from the previous regime again, dealing the running back they selected after not being able to snag Robert Griffin III. The Browns were lacking at running back with Chris Ogbonnaya and Bobby Rainey and with Dion Lewis and Montario Hardesty both already out for the year, clearly the team is giving up a bit.

Many speculate that the team is focusing on next season, as they now have two first round picks, two third round picks and two fourth round picks and now they could be a force in the 2014 draft. The team should be bad enough to get a top 10 pick and now they could also position themselves to get someone like Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater.
