Darrelle Revis, Greg Schiano Not Feuding, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Downplay Drama as Cornerback Tweets He's Happy After Defensive Scheme Struggles

Darrelle Revis is attempting to remove himself from the drama surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. First quarterback Josh Freeman downplayed any type of riff between he and head coach Greg Schiano and now Revis is attempting to do the same after reports surfaced he was angry at the coaching methods in Tampa Bay.

On Tuesday, Fox Sports reported that Revis was not thrilled with the coaching methods of Schiano and the defensive scheme being run in Tampa Bay. Schiano typically runs a zone-style defense while Revis thrives in man coverage. The cornerback felt this was hurting his productivity on the field. Revis caught win of the report and immediately took to Twitter to clear the air.

"What's going on Buc fans. Just to clear the smoke. I'm happy to be a Buccaneer & I'm happy to be a resident of Tampa," Revis wrote.

That was not exactly a denial that there was a riff between he and Schiano, but Andrea Kremer of the NFL Network reported that the two met for about 15 minutes on Tuesday after practice just to clear things up between then. According to Kremer, Revis has no issue with his head coach and is perfectly fine with the direction the team is headed in.

Everyone on the team appears to be committed to eliminating the distractions and drama that have plagued the team over the past two weeks. Not only have they been concerned with the winless start, but now they have to focus on downplaying reports of drama surrounding Schiano, Freeman, Revis and Vincent Jackson. Schiano believe the easiest way to get defeated is by distraction and right now, the team has plenty of that.

"Any time that as a coach you're trying to instill winning habits in your entire football team, in your organization, really.  The way we cook the food, the way we practice, the way we clean the building.  We want everything to be an elite level," Schiano said, via the team website.  "So when you have mishaps, you have things where guys don't do things they're supposed to do when they're supposed to do it, does it concern me?  Sure it does."

The Buccaneers could be facing an 0-3 start as they prepare to face the New England Patriots on Sunday. The Buccaneers offense has struggled in their first  two games and facing the Patriots defense will not help them get back on their feet.
