Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 2: Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas, Ben Tate, Eddie Lacy and Andre Roberts Players To Start

Sep 13, 2013 09:08 AM EDT

The fantasy football season can be tough in the early goings as owners try to pick and choose which players to start and sit and which ones will be the best sleepers and after a crazy Week 1, the second week of the season should be even better and some players to watch include Giovani Bernard, Jordan Cameron, Brian Hartline, Jonathan Dwyer, Darren McFadden, Arian Foster, LeSean McCoy and Ben Tate.

Some of the bigger games of the week include the Bengals playing the Steelers on Monday night as well as games on Sunday between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers as well as the San Diego Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Another interesting game fantasy wise is the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers, as names like Robert Griffin III, Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Alfred Morris, Eddie Lacy, Pierre Garcon as well as both defensive units.

Some players this week have much better matchups than others, including the Oakland Raiders playing the Jacksonville Jaguars, who could only muster two points last week and that was on a safety. Terrelle Pryor led the league in rushing last week and now he will be facing off against the worst defense in the league in the Jaguars.

The Jags are starting Chad Henne after Blaine Gabbert was injured and Pryor could have a big day as a quarterback, while Darren McFadden could continue his solid start with a good game on Sunday as well. The passing attack for the Raiders likely won't be too great all season, but out of the wide receiving core, the best option is Denarius Moore after he scored a touchdown last week.

Ryan Tannehill had a nice day last week against the Cleveland Browns and he connected very well with Brian Hartline, while Mike Wallace is looking to rebound after his awful debut game last week. The Colts gave up some big points to Pryor last week and Tannehill could be the next player to put up some numbers. Matt Forte is expected to be one of the best fantasy players in the NFL this season and he is applying against a Kansas City Chiefs team that could give up some yards. Along with McFadden, the fact that Forte is solid out of the backfield boosts his potential, especially in PPR leagues.

Eddie Lacy did not have a smashing debut against the San Francisco 49ers, but he should be able to put up some solid numbers against the Washington Redskins, as they have up some solid production to LeSean McCoy last week to the Eagles. Lacy should get the ball more after the team lost to the 49ers and another running back option this week could be DeAngelo Williams, as the Buffalo Bills have up over 150 yards rushing to the Patriots last week, including 104 yards to Shane Vereen.

Some players that are prime sleeper options include Jordan Cameron, Daniel Thomas, Andre Roberts as well as Jonathan Dwyer, who will be playing on Monday night football after being signed again by the Steelers after being cut in the preseason. The Steelers are looking to bounce back from their opening week loss to the Titans and another player that should have a nice game is Marlon Brown for the Baltimore, as he will stepping up for the Ravens now that Jacoby Jones is out for a month.
