Seahawks vs. 49ers Week 2: Seattle To Have Undercover Police In San Francisco Team Apparel For Sunday Night Game

The Seattle Seahawks are hosting the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 of the NFL season and as the most anticipated game on the schedule, Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick will go head to head in a battle between two favorites in the NFC.

The Seahawks are known for having some of the loudest fans in sports and on Sunday the team is planning on using undercover police at CenturyLink Field to ensure that the game goes on safely. According to ESPN.com, the team wants to make sure that fans behave themselves and that things do not get out of hand between Seattle and San Francisco fans and the report says that the team will have the cops wearing 49ers gear to blend in better with those groups of people.

The Seahawks made the announcement about the move during the week and said that it was done to help the fans have a safe and fun time at the game and after some fan violence in the past, they are hoping to avoid any situations. The use of cops is something other teams have done in the past and after incidents like what happened to Bryan Stow at Dodgers Stadium as well as issues in the Bay Area last season makes it a smart idea for the franchise.

The Seahawks said that fans are expected to behave a certain way at games and while the fans at the field can often get loud and rambunctious, the team is hoping that violence is at a minimum. According to Pro Football Talk, the team has done it in the past, including in the preseason against the Raiders, which was done originally to give a "test run" before doing it for the 49ers game.
