New York Giants: David Wilson Slams Fans on Twitter After Brandon Jacobs Signs, RB Rips Fantasy Owners as Victor Cruz Promises Better Play Against Denver Broncos

David Wilson has not had an easy week. After his two fumbles headlined the New York Giants' loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the running back's future has officially been placed in question. Not to mention the team opted to sign free agent Brandon Jacobs as a security blanket. Now, Wilson is lashing out on fans who continue to rip him and his slow start.

Everyone from loyal Giants fans to fantasy football owners are not happy with Wilson. The running back was named the starter and expected to play a large role in the team's overall offense. Instead, he fumbled twice and was benched. This only continues to make his reputation as being turnover prone grow stronger. Wilson is tired of hearing from people and took his frustrations out on Twitter.

"Ayy to fantasy participants and pissed Giants fans ur irrelevant to me!!! Nobody wants me to succeed more than ME!!! WATCH US WORK!" Wilson tweeted out.

Teammates have spoken out in support of Wilson who clearly is not getting that from anywhere else. Players like Victor Cruz are stressing that the running back must bounce back because the team is going to need him come Sunday.

"We don't want to mentally get down," Cruz said on WFAN radio. "I just want to talk to [Wilson] and keep his spirits high, and understand that we're behind him. We're going to need him to make plays. He's a dynamic running back, and we're going to need him to make plays in order for us to win ball games. We've just gotta keep his emotions high, keep his mentality positive, and we can go from there. . . . It's definitely a tough time for him and he's gotta get through it."

Wilson might not get another chance to let fans and fantasy players watch him work. The Giants announced on Tuesday the team was bringing back veteran running back Jacobs for the season. FOX Sports announced the move. Jacobs was one of three veteran backs to come in and work out for the team following Wilson's performance. Willis McGahee and Joe McKnight were also options for the team.

Jacobs was suspended by the San Francisco 49ers and then eventually cut for salary cap purposes. He played in just two games last season. The last time he played a prominent role for someone and carried the ball over 200 times was 2009. Jacobs will be a strong short-yardage option and possibly someone that can help Wilson get out of his funk.
