Manchester United Transfer News: Nani Ends Speculation over Future, Signs New Contract

Nani ended all speculation of his future at Manchester United by agreeing to a new five-year contract with the English Premier League champions.

The Portuguese winger was linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer, having reportedly failed to agree on a new deal.

However, all speculation has been now put to rest and Nani will look to make an impression under new manager David Moyes this season as United look to hold off competition from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham for the Premier League title.

"Playing at United has been a fantastic experience for me," Nani told the club's official website. "When I came to the club, I never imagined the success we have enjoyed.

"Training every day with top players who want to win trophies every year is a great motivation to me. I'm very happy that the new manager has shown this faith in me and I'm looking forward to helping the team compete for more honors this season."

Moyes had apparently asked United officials to guarantee him that every single first team player, barring Bebe, would be allowed to stay with the club this season in a bid to bring in as much stability to the squad as possible following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

While not too many new faces came in, much to the disappointment of the United fans, Moyes will be relatively happy to see pretty much the entire squad that cantered to the Premier League title last season stay intact.

"I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years," United manager Moyes said. "He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years.

"I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons."
