The NFL season is getting ready to start and with Week 1 beginning for fantasy football owners, players all over the country are wondering who will end up as the stat leaders in various categories and some wide receivers that could lead the league in yards are names like Josh Gordon, Danny Amendola, Cordarrelle Patterson and Alshon Jeffery.

Amendola is coming to the Patriots after signing as a free agent from the Rams and he is set to take over where Wes Welker left off last season. Welker was prolific during his time in New England and Amendola appears to be cut from that same cloth and could put up some huge numbers with Tom Brady in the offense in 2013. The team needs all the help it can get on offense after losing Welker as well as Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez and Amendola could end up being one of the leaders in yards and receptions by the end of the season.

The team has Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson as rookies as well as Josh Boyce and Amendola likely will be the leader among the group. Amendola had some issues after not practicing last week and while he has had injury problems in the past, all reports say that he will be ready for Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Last season Amendola had 63 catches for 666 yards and three touchdowns and there is no doubt he will add more to that as long as he is healthy this season.

The Patriots like to use wideouts in the slot and Amendola said that he will be fine for Week 1 and he could put up some big numbers against a weak Bills secondary. While he only played in 12 games over the past two years with the Rams, including one in 2011, he fits what the Pats did with Welker, taking a player that has potential and turning him loose. Amendola could end up with over 100 catches this season and big yardage from Brady.

Josh Gordon is a bit of a question mark due to his suspension for drugs, but after last season it is clear that he is a star for the Browns and is their big play threat. Last year he was targeted more than any receiver for the team and made 50 receptions for 805 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 16.1  yards per catch, one of the best in the league. Brandon Weeden should be getting better and with Trent Richardson also in the offense, teams will be focusing on the running game.

Gordon should be even better this season and could end up as a top 10 receiver even with missing two games. He won't return until Week 3 and that will give him a chance to get even more comfortable with new offense from coach Rob Chudzinski and expect nice numbers when he returns. Cordarrelle Patterson and Alshon Jeffery also could be some nice options next season, especially Jeffery as the Bears offense chances under new coach Marc Trestman.

Jay Cutler needs someone to step up behind Brandon Marshall and Jeffery looks like the main option. The team did not get enough from Earl Bennett and they are going to give him every chance to succeed and with Marshall not 100 percent, he could put up top 20 numbers.
