Fantasy Football Trades 2013: Jamaal Charles, Trent Richardson, Steven Jackson and Mike Wallace Deals Could Bring Value Before Week 1 Starts

The fantasy football season is about ready to start and one things that some fantasy owners like to do before Week 1 is to assess their strong points and make trades to even out the weaker positions and this year some players with high expectations that could net some prime talent includes Jamaal Charles, Trent Richardson, Steven Jackson and Mike Wallace as well as Dwyane Bowe.

Fantasy football trades are always a tough thing to figure out, as owners can get worried about making the wrong move, but sometimes trades can lead to fantasy league wins, including last year when someone in my league traded for Brandon Marshall and ended up winning the whole thing after he made 118 catches last year. This season Jamaal Charles is a player to look at, as he will put up good numbers, but expectations may be a bit too high and owners can capitalize on that right now.

Charles can catch out of the backfield, but after having that injury scare and getting plenty of carries last season and Knile Davis looking like a sleeper, it might be best to trade him for another back while his value is high. He looks like a top five player now, but by the end of the season he could end up in the top 15 and another back could be valuable to get in return, including someone like LeSean McCoy or Marshawn Lynch.

Dwyane Bowe keeps it with the Chiefs and while he could have a nice season, chances are he won't be scoring 15 touchdowns from Alex Smith like he did two years ago. Smith is a solid quarterback, but he isn't the strong armed guy that Joe Flacco is and that could hurt Bowe fantasy wise when it comes to yards and touchdowns. The Chiefs will be better this season, but getting rid of Bowe for someone more solid is a good move for fantasy owners.

Trent Richardson looks like a beast and while he is poised to go over 1,000 yards this season, he is basically the best option for the Browns and that may mean that defenses rush the box for him. Richardson scored over 10 touchdowns, but he also had some games last season when he was under 60 yards and now he is being looked at as a top back, but that might be too high of expectations for the second year player.

Mike Wallace could also be a bust after signing with the Dolphins, as Ryan Tannehill did not light the world on fire last season. Tannehill will be improved, but Wallace may not end up as the top 190 receiver he is projected to be.
