U.S. Open 2013 Bracket in Men's Singles Find Out Who's Left in the Quarterfinals and Who Advanced

Sep 04, 2013 08:35 PM EDT

The Men's Singles bracket will continue developing as we will only have two left to battle for the championship on Monday. Check out the U.S. Open 2013 Men''s Singles bracket as the quarterfinals began on Wednesday. Who's still alive in the tournament? Find out right now. Yes, there was an early upset.

It was not Roger Federer. The once most dominant player in Men's Singles never even made it to the quarterfinals or the second straight grand slam. He was ousted by the Spaniard, Tommy Robredo (19) in the fourth round and in straight sets, 7(7)-6(3), 6-3, 6-4. For Robredo, it is his first ever quarterfinal at the U.S. Open and just the sixth of his career.

Earlier on Wednesday, Richard Gasquet (8) defeated David Ferrer in five intense sets of tennis. Gasquet won 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 2-6, 6-3. It is his first ever semifinal appearance at the U.S. Open and just the second of his 12-year career.

Rafael Nadal (2) is alive and well, though he suffered a first-set scare in the fourth round of the tournament. Consider it a brief hiccup as the Spaniard roared back to close out the match in four sets, proving the competition does not stand a chance. Nadal is on fire in 2013 and he'll be looking to steal the title from the defending champion, Andy Murray (3) who is still alive and also on a streak of his own.

Murray has made finals appearances in the last four grand slams he's played in, winning two of four and standing as the defending champion coming into this tournament. Murray is attempting to defend his first ever Men's Singles major title.

Novak Djokovic (1) is having a ball. He has yet to drop a set in the tournament and has even won three sets via shutouts. In his last match, which earned him passage to the quarters, Djokovic defeated Marcel Granollers in straight sets, posting bagels to take the last two sets.

The final two players still remaining in the tournament are Mikhail Youzhny (21) and Stanislas Wawrinka (9).

What are the matchups? What are the records?

Djokovic 5-3 Youzhny
Murray 8-5 Wawrinka

Gasquet in Semis
Nadal 6-0 Robredo
