Tim Tebow is a free agent once again after spending a couple months with the New England Patriots and after the quarterback was released during 53-man roster cut downs, many fans and other in the media are wondering what is next for the former Heisman winner and his NFL career.

According to ESPN.com, Tebow was released by the Patriots and officially cleared waivers over the holiday weekend and now his career could be in jeopardy. After being released by the New York Jets in the offseason, it took quite a chunk of time before the Patriots came calling and that could be bad news for Tebow. The quarterback has already said that he will continue to work on being an NFL quarterback, but many wonder whether Tebow still has a chance to make it in the league. Is there any reason exactly why teams don't like Tim Tebow? There could be a few answers.

Tebow had an up and down preseason for the Patriots while playing in three games, but based on all reports he was well liked and popular in the locker room. But the results on the field weren't consistent enough, as the quarterback finished with just 11 completions and 145 yards with two scores and two interceptions and he also rushed for 91 yards. The Patriots haven't kept three quarterbacks on the roster for three of the past four years and clearly this time Bill Belichick opted for that plan again, using Ryan Mallett as the second stringer and backup for Tom Brady.

Tebow reunited with his former head coach in Denver and the man who drafted him in Josh McDaniels, but after not being able to hang on with his team, where does his future lie? He could catch on elsewhere in the league, while some in the media have already speculated that he could head north of the border to the Canadian Football League. Tebow's possible last professional game in the NFL could be the Patriots finals game against the Giants and his stat line included completing six of 11 passes for 91 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown.

Tebow had a mediocre preseason and looked lost at times, but he also showed some improvements on mid range throws and was very accurate at times against the Giants. But Tebow also missed some open receivers badly and now he could be at risk of not playing in the NFL again. Tebow's likely high point in his NFL career was in the playoffs in 2012 when he led the Broncos to an upset playoff win against the Steelers with an 80-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas in overtime and that could be his peak moment in the league.

Tebow has won at every level he has played and after being a Heisman winner and national champion, his career could be over.
