The NBA offseason is heading towards the preseason and training camp as the calendar hits September and while trades and free agent signings will slow down significantly, that doesn't mean down the road they won't heat up again and rebuilding teams could target names like Omer Asik, Arron Afflalo, Avery Bradley, Derrick Williams, Terrence Ross and Marcus Thornton.

Rebuilding teams can often go through the tough process of dealing with losing seasons as they try and build up their roster, but with a smart trade here or there, teams can turn around much faster, something the Nets did back when they traded for Jason Kidd and then went to the finals after being terrible. The Pelicans this season feel that they have sped up their rebuilding process by trading for Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans in the offseason and there are a number of teams that could try and pull off that same move this season. According to Bleacher Report, some options on the trading block this offseason could be names like Asik, Ross, Williams and Bradley among others.

The Boston Celtics have some big decisions to make this season after trading away Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets and they could decide to just clean house, sending away either Rajon Rondo or Avery Bradley in a deal as Brad Stevens takes over as coach. The Suns made a move to trade away Caron Butler after acquiring him this offseason and general manager Ryan McDonough states that he feels the cap room could help the team "trade for another exciting player", meaning they could be part of the quick turnaround plan as well. The team already dealt away Luis Scola this offseason and with Butler gone they have a young core of players in Alex Len, Kendall Marshall and Archie Goodwin.

One option could be Arron Afflalo with the Magic after he averaged over 16 points last season with 3.7 rebounds and since the Magic are rebuilding themselves around Victor Oladipo, he could be an option to move. The team acquired the 27-year-old and now could flip him for some young talent and another player that could end up moving is Omer Asik. The Rockets signed Dwight Howard in the offseason and he reportedly asked for a trade, but so far the Rockets have not looked at that as an option. That could change as the season wears on if things don't work on court with Asik and Howard and there would be plenty of takers for him after the center averaged 10 points and over 11 rebounds last year in 82 games.

The Rockets signed Omri Casspi and Marcus Camby and with Howard already being one of the best centers in the NBA, they easily could move Asik and get something decent enough in return. The Celtics have a couple moves they could make with Rondo or Bradley, especially with the younger star after he averaged 9.2 points and 2.2 rebounds last season and depending on how healthy Rondo is when he comes back they could make a move. Bradley is an above average defender already at just 22 and if Rondo is healthy they may decide to move him. Draymond Green is another player they could move after signing Andre Iguodala and another player that could move is Perry Jones III with the Thunder, as he is stuck on the bench after averaging just two points and 1.6 rebounds.

Derrick Williams is a player that has been mentioned in rumors in the offseason and he could move after the Timberwolves signed Nikola Pekovic to his big extension. Last season he averaged 12 points and five rebounds and he could be a player at age 22 that another team could build around.
