College Football Scores and Results: Clemson and Georgia In Thriller, Alabama, LSU and TCU

The college football season got off to a full start on Saturday with some big games, including Alabama and Virginia Tech and LSU and TCU and some of the early matchups included schools like Ohio State, Notre, Dame, Syracuse and Oklahoma in action as well as Florida and Texas A&M.

Texas was one of the late games and completely demolished New Mexico State, scoring 56 points in the process, including 21 in the third and fourth quarters after scoring zero in the first. Some of the other late games included UCLA taking on Nevada as well as Nebraska hosting Wyoming and Clemson playing Georgia in what was the most anticipated matchup of the weekend. Alabama came into the season looking to win its third national championship in a row and they got started off in a big way against the Hokies, winning 35-10 and the game was never close.

Oregon had a huge game, winning 66-3 in their opener against Nicholls State and Texas A&M also had a fun filled day with Johnny Manziel starting the second half against Rice and winning 52-31, while Florida ended up winning 24-6 over Toledo at home to open their season. Ohio State won big over Buffalo 40-20, while Oklahoma State won 21-3 over Miss State, while Notre Dame was in total control over Temple. Oklahoma shutout LA Monroe 34-0 and Wisconsin also won 45-0 over UMass, while Eastern Washington defeated Oregon State in a thrilled 49-46.

Some other games included Eastern Michigan winning as well as Auburn, while Tennessee, Virginia and Michigan all were winners, with the Wolverines starting big with a 59-9 victory over Central Michigan. NC State won while Cincinnati defeated Purdue, while Maryland also won big. Oklahoma looked very good and West Virginia also won and so did Missouri. Duke pitched a shutout and Arkansas were also winners, while Northern Illinois won over Iowa.
