Aaron Hernandez was trouble for the Patriots, alleges the Rolling Stone in an explosive new article and details have come out now that shows that head coach Bill Belichick was getting down to the last straw with his star tight end.

According to Rolling Stone and the article "The Gangster in the Huddle", Belichick threatened Hernandez with a trade or release if he didn't shape up after missing some workouts over the spring. The article reports that Hernandez felt he was in danger from friends and associates and after talking to Belichick, he added home security and later went to California. While he was there he got into some issues and didn't show up for a workout and also had problems with rehab sessions.

Hernandez also had an issue where police showed up after an argument with his girlfriend and later when he returned to Massachusetts, Belichick threw down the hammer. The coach threatened him with a release or a trade if the behavior did not stop and clearly he was sick of it.

From the article: "No arrest was made, but word got back to Belichick, who exploded and tendered notice: Any more disruptions and he'd be traded or cut at the end of the 2013 season."
