The US Open starts up in earnest on Monday August 26 and with a number of big name players in action over the first few days like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic, there are plenty of storylines to look at.

Rafael Nadal comes into the tournament playing some of his best hard-court tennis in ages, as he has won two straight tournaments for the first time in his career on the surface and after being forced to miss the grand slam last year, he will be looked at as a favorite for the championship. He looked very good his last time out against Federer and Djokovic and he could end up facing Andy Murray, who won last year.

The National Tennis Center in Queens is home to the US Open and Nadal comes in after defeating Federer in Cincinnati in three sets and while he still can play, Federer likely will not be making it to the finals in Flushing. Nadal won the match after some great plays on both sides and now the legends will get the chance to try again.

Serena Williams just lost to Victoria Azarenka and with their rivalry heating up, it could bring some buzz to the women's side of things after Maria Sharapova pulled out of the tournament. Williams was having an amazing season before coming up against Azarenka and the two could face off again.

The Bryan Brothers play in doubles and are looking for another title, which would be number 16 and they already have the record and more interest could come from Sloane Stephens if she makes it through, especially with her rivalry weird thing with Serena Williams.

Andy Roddick might be back..but just as a spectator after retiring last time around.

Murray has the chance to go two in a row, but he will have to play Djokovic in the semis and that could be tough.

Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong will be getting huge facelifts over the next year.

Go Rafa! (had to do it)
