New York Giants vs. Jets Schedule, Preview, Predictions: TV, Time and Expected Winner for Saturday's Meeting

Aug 23, 2013 11:36 AM EDT

It's only the NFL Preseason, but the New York Giants and New York Jets face off Saturday evening and it's a pretty big deal. Unfortunately, the two won't face off again during the regular season, unless they meet in the Super Bowl, but let's not push the envelope. Looking to watch the game? Here's the schedule info with TV info and we'll even throw in predictions for the game.

Time: 7 p.m. ET

TV: Not Being Aired

This would probably be considered one of the biggest crimes for a New Yorker. Who cares if it's only preseason!? Why isn't this matchup making the airwaves?! Those fans who bought their preseason tickets are pretty lucky. Though the Giants have been the favorite as of late, the Jets have some excitement heading into camp as they have an internal quarterback race going on in the preseason.

Preview: The Jets will be starting Geno Smith. His preseason numbers are nothing to brag about since he's barely received playing time. It's a very small sample, but Smith is 6/7 with 47 yards passing. We can't see his practices, but Rex Ryan claims that Smith has done very well and has shown improvements. "I think (Smith's) looked good. I'm excited to see him play," said Coach Ryan.

Sanchez will play and he has given the Jets some reason to believe in him. He's 23/36 with 294 passing yards and two touchdowns.

The Giants have been average at best during the preseason. Their offense is really struggling to get its stride in the 2013 NFL preseason and things aren't looking too bright for their receiving core as Victor Cruz is out and in a walking boot. Eli Manning has yet to warm his engines, going 10/22 with a touchdown and an interception. Their running game has not been what they've expected, but there is still a lot of time to tighten things up.

Winner: With the preseason Sanchez is having, even if Geno Smith blows in the beginning portion of the game, the Jets have a chance. With no Cruz, who's been a Jets killer since he put on a Giants' jersey, the Giants don't look as potent.
Final Score: 28-17 Jets
