Aaron Hernandez is back in court on Thursday after a delay and now August 22 marks the scheduled date for his probable cause hearing in the case of the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez has been tied to the crime through a great deal of evidence, including shell casings, text messages from the night of the murder as well as video surveillance from his own home. According to reports, Hernandez was seen in his home before the murder with a gun in his possession and while police have yet to locate the murder weapon, that doesn't mean he can't be convicted.

Hernandez reportedly had .45 caliber ammunition that was recovered by police and the authorities believe that the gun that killed Lloyd was of that caliber as well. Hernandez has also been tied to a double murder from last year in Boston and while he has not been charged with the crime, reports say that Lloyd's death may have to do with that murder as well, as he may have had knowledge about Hernandez's involvement. Lawyers allege that the dispute between Hernandez and Lloyd started inn a club the Friday before the murder and those reports say it stemmed from something to do with the double murder from Boston.

The gun in the double murder was recovered by police from a woman named Jailene Diaz-Ramos, who happens to be from Bristol as well and has some connections to Hernandez. The former Patriots star has not been charged with a crime in those murders and it remains to be seen if he will.

Hernandez is facing life in prison for the charges and depending on what happens there is a chance that he may never have the chance to get out of jail at all if convicted. Hernandez has been painted as the main player in the execution and the lawyers for the state showed him as someone who did not care at all when he heard that Lloyd was killed and they also described him as agitated and hostile when police first approached him about the death of Lloyd.

Hernandez has been in jail since getting arrested in June and he was denied bail twice by the judge in the case. The original probable cause hearing was delayed and back before he was arrested, Hernandez reportedly slammed his door in the face of police and also told his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins to stop speaking with authorities after they tried to question her about the night of the murder.
