Aaron Hernandez Double Murder Connection: Gun Found In Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado Drive-By Homicide From July 2012

Aaron Hernandez is in jail for one murder after he was arrested for the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd and now there is a chance he could be facing further charges and questions in a double murder from last summer after the gun was located for that crime after a traffic accident.

According to media reports and CNN, the gun was found after a search after an accident in June and it was located after Jailene Diaz-Ramos was involved in a four-car crash. She was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license and improper storage of a firearm and said that the gun belonged to her boyfriend and that her car had been used by her boyfriend to visit a "football" player, although she did not name a player.

The ballistics from the .38 caliber gun found at the scene later matched up with the bullets from the murders of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, which occurred last July in Boston. The murders occurred after an alleged dispute at a nightclub and rumors have Hernandez killing Lloyd this past year in retaliation for the fact that he knew about the murders or said something about the murders to someone else.

The double murder of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado occurred on July 16, 2012 after a gray or silver SUV pulled up to their car and opened fire. The two men were travelling with three others, who survived, and the shooting occurred after a fight happened at the club, reportedly between Hernandez and the group of men. The car was stopped at a light when the SUV with Rhode Island plates pulled up and opened fire, leaving the scene right after.

Hernandez was released by the Patriots after being arrested and that came after the team had previously given him a $40 million contract extension and now they have to suffer a tough cap hit due to the cut. Hernandez was considered one of the best young tight ends in the league and now he likely will never play football again, if he even gets out of jail. His past has been scrutinized, including his time at Florida when he was involved in drugs, fights and other issues.

The Globe wrote that a fight broke out the night of the murder back in July and it involved the group that was killed as well as Hernandez. The case continues to develop and Hernandez is in jail as he was denied bail twice and now could face life in jail if convicted. He could face further issues if he is charged in the double murder and police and investigators are now looking at whether he is responsible for that crime.

A report from the Boston Globe says that police knew that Hernandez was at the club that night, but no connection was made between the two parties and they felt it was just another athlete hanging out a club, although now it appears there is more of a connection. Reports from the Globe and ABC News wrote that Lloyd may have been killed due to his knowledge of Hernandez's involvement in the murder, which may have stemmed from that nightclub incident the week before. Others have speculated that there has to be more of a motive than disrespect for Hernandez in the crime and many have connected the dots between the two cases.
