An awful story coming out of Oklahoma as reports say that Australian baseball player who was attending a school in the state on a scholarship was shot dead for literally no reason by three teenagers who reportedly said that they were "bored" and felt that was a good way to spend their time.

According to the local CBS station and the Huffington Post, Christopher Lane was shot dead on Friday while visiting the town of Duncan, which is where his girlfriend lives. The report says that the Melbourne native was 22 and that the three teen assailants were 15, 16 and 17 years old and will be in court on Tuesday. Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said the body was discovered after a woman saw Lane staggering and then collapse onto the road in front of her house in the town and the report says he was jogging past the home where the boys were and there appears to be no motive.

As in, there is not motive because three teens decided to kill someone for no apparent reason other than boredom. A human being that was living is now deal because three teens were "bored". It is unclear how many times Lane was shot or who pulled the trigger and now the arrested teens could face charges as adults or possibly juveniles depending on what happens. The death penalty could be in play depending on who pulled the trigger and the circumstances and Ford added that the 17-year-old confessed to the police, but no murder weapon has been found.

Ford said that the teens decided on the target and then followed in a car to an area and decided to kill him, shooting him in the back and then leaving. Very honorable. Sarah Harper, Lane's girlfriend, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp said that they were in their home country and came back last week and he previously was attending East Central University, which is over 80 miles from Duncan and he played as a catcher and started 14 games last season and was looking towards his senior year.

Sidenote: Okay, this sentence is an opinion, but for any gun nuts out there, please tell me how this incident fits in with all the arguments about how guns aren't a problem in this country? These kids were "bored" and decided to kill someone with a gun.
