The U.S. Open is the final major on the schedule for the tennis season and after Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams won the Rogers Cup, they will be looked at as favorites and possibly by the time they play in 2016, the grounds at Arthur Ashe Stadium will finally have the roof everyone desires.

According to Bloomberg.com, the stadium will be getting a roof, possibly as soon as 2016 after five straight finals at the tournament were delayed because of rain until the Monday after the tournament was supposed to end. The details have not been released, but now it will be the last major to get a roof after the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon all added one. The past five years the men's final has been delayed until Monday after going 21-years straight finishing on Sunday and the frustration finally gave way to a roof.

The USTA is already doing a major renovation to the grounds at the US Open and Louis Armstrong Stadium will get more seating for at least 15,000 up from 10,000 and now the roof will come as well. According to ESPN.com, ROSSETTI , who designed Ford Field, the Red Bulls arena in Harrison, N.J. and Arthur Ashe Stadium, will also work on the roof.

According to Bloomberg: "he USTA's press release said the renovation would include two new stadiums and a viewing plaza for the practice courts."
