Manchester City Transfer News: Edin Dzeko Excited by New Signing Stevan Jovetic

Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko expressed his delight at the arrival of new signing Stevan Jovetic to the Manchester City lineup, while claiming the club were raring to go come the new season.

City have been the busiest of the top sides in the Premier League this summer, spending nearly £90 million ($139 million) on four players - Jesus Navas, Fernandinho, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic -- and Dzeko believes his fellow Eastern European Jovetic might be the pick of the bunch.

"We all know how Jovetic played in Italy," Dzeko told Bosnian news agency Anadolija.

"He's the right reinforcement for our team. He plays close to me and I'm very happy because of that.

"I believe that we'll work well together. He already feels at home. It was easy for him to adapt as he has me, Matija (Nastasic) and Aleksandar (Kolarov) here."

Dzeko is confident Manchester City can have another serious crack at the Premier League title, but also wants his side to do better in Europe next season.

City have been extremely underwhelming in the Champions League in the last couple of seasons, failing to make the group stages, which eventually led to Roberto Mancini's sacking.

However, the Bosnian international is determined to put the record straight in this year's Champions League.

"We are fully prepared for what is coming," Dzeko said.

"Day by day, we're getting better. We've made some new signings, who are quality players.

"We all hope to do better in the Premier League and also the Champions League. We have to do better in Europe this season."

New manager Manuel Pellegrini has hinted there could be a couple more new signings coming to the Etihad before the closure of the transfer window, but it is believed Anzhi winger Willian will not be one of them despite the Brazilian being made available by the Russia club as they look to cut on their spending.
