Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos is NFL Preseason Week 2 Highlight, Is This A Super Bowl Preview?

Aug 13, 2013 01:27 PM EDT

The Denver Broncos travel to CenturyLink Field where they will have a date with the Seattle Seahawks. Without a doubt, this overshadows any of the other matchups on the NFL's Preseason Week 2 schedule, but could it become the matchup we see on Feb. 2 for Super Bowl XLVIII?

The Broncos have the game's best quarterback in Peyton Manning. He is an offensive guru and a master at the quarterback position. You know Manning is great because he makes players around him better. Reggie Wayne was the man in Indianapolis because of Manning. Marvin Harrison enjoyed 11 seasons as Manning's No. 1 receiver and his career totals prove the two had something special when they were Colts. Demaryius Thomas almost tripled his receiving yards and receptions after going for 1,434 yards with 94 receptions in 2012 after totaling 551 receiving yards with 32 catches in 2011.

The Seahawks have a special combination of veterans and youngsters. Russell Wilson runs the offense, but Marshawn Lynch carries the load. Wilson, the Seahawks' quarterback, was a revelation last year for the Seahawks. He was expected to be a third-string quarterback, but he worked his way to the top. Though not known for his throwing, Wilson was extremely clutch when it mattered most. He's not a Manning-like player. Wilson rushes and is a master of the pistol formation now taking the game of football by storm.

The Broncos took the AFC West in 2012, while the Seahawks were back in contention, finishing second in the NFC West behind the San Francisco 49ers. The Broncos already saw the 49ers in Week 1 of the NFL Preseason. There is a lot of hype behind both teams' seasons. They were both bounced in the divisional round despite losing by a combined five points.
