Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Luis Suarez Plans To Take Legal Action Against Liverpool In Order To Ensure His Future With The Gunners

Aug 06, 2013 01:39 PM EDT

The future of striker Luis Suarez has yet to be determined but new reports suggest that he's prepared to take Liverpool to court in order to force his protracted move to join Arsenal.

Suarez has claimed Liverpool offered him guarantees he would be allowed to leave if a Champions' League club bid for him, and Arsenal have maintained their interest in the striker.

But the Anfield club are adamant they have no contractual obligation to sell the striker, and given he has three years left on his contract Rodgers is determined to resist his demands to leave.

Suarez's agent Pere Guardiola claimed that Liverpool verbally agreed to negotiate if an offer of more than £35m came in and that while they would never sell to bitter rivals Manchester United, offers from big London clubs, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich would be entertained.

Suarez also said that Liverpool promised to tell him about any negotiations and now he feels let down because they've rejected an offer from Arsenal.

Suarez recently suffered a knock to his foot after a collision during training this morning, but his absence will surely serve to add continuing unrest about his current situation with Liverpool.

With the season barely a week away and Suarez banned for another six matches, he would have played only a small part in the pre-season preparation game anyway.
