MLB Suspensions: Alex Rodriguez Mocked on Shark Week 2013's 'Shark After Dark' for Steroid Use

Aug 06, 2013 11:05 AM EDT

Alex Rodriguez's suspension was heard all around the world. So much so that even sharks were commenting on his suspension and making fun of the New York Yankees' third baseman. It has gotten to the point where nobody respects Rodriguez, and no offense to Bob the Shark from Shark Week 2013's "Shark After Dark," but the geek beat the jock Monday evening.

Bob the Shark brought out an inflatable shark to Day 2. Host Josh Wolf casually asked Bob the Shark for his friend's name and the answer was "A-Rod." Wolf was immediately confused, "Why do you call him A-Rod?" Bob the Shark replied, "Because you need a needle to pump him up." Rim shot!

Bob the Shark isn't an intimidating figure. He could never beat any athlete in any sport, which is why he's considered the geek. A-Rod is the true definition of a jock. We all know he loves the ladies and they love him right back. He walked around like the most popular kid in class, but on Monday, he was crushed as the shark had the last laugh.

By the way, if you don't believe me, Bob the Shark is not intimidating whatsoever. Shark Week has shark attack segments, but this shark couldn't hurt plankton.

A-Rod proves larger than life once again, reaching all platforms from coverage in the Dominican Republic news to getting a quick mention on the Discovery Channel. He's used to it though. All he's heard since joining the New York Yankees back in 2004 is criticism. A-Rod never fit the Yankee ways and was being compared with future Hall of Famer, Derek Jeter. I don't know whether the comparisons were unfair to A-Rod or Jeter.

Right now, A-Rod's career has been reduced to nothing. Once thought of as the future of baseball and the best in the bigs, A-Rod is now another asterisk in one of the darkest times in baseball history. He's been reduced from a face and icon of the sport to a joke on a shark show.
