Aaron Hernandez is currently locked up for the murder of Odin Lloyd and now that the former Patriots star is awaiting trial, many have looked back on his past to look for signs of what was to come and one incident that could have added to the rough childhood for the star was when his mother got stabbed by her second husband.

Hernandez's father Dennis passed away when he was 16 after complications from surgery and many have pointed to this event as the main thing that sparked his early bad behavior. According to the Daily Beast, Hernandez's mother Terri was involved in a scary incident back in 2010 that involved her new husband that she met after Dennis died and this came soon after Hernandez signed a contract with the Patriots and was finally getting over the death of his father.

The report says that Terri was stabbed and slashed across the face in the incident involving her new husband Jeffrey Cummings and it took place in Bristol, the hometown of the tight end. The police said that they found Hernandez's mother with a laceration on her face and another cut on her wrist from the incident. The police them found the man that she married three years after the death of Dennis in the backyard as well as a bent knife in the kitchen that was used in the incident.

The report describes how the couple first met as well as the criminal record for Cummings, something that likely did not help stop Hernandez from hanging out with the wrong crowd or going down the wrong path later in his life. Cummings had a lengthy record, including drugs and a domestic-violence incident and it also details that he was in prison when Hernandez asked for a divorce. This came after the two were married in Las Vegas, which came three years after Terri lost Dennis and became a widow and she said that all this came around the time Aaron was finally getting back to normal after the death of his father. His mother went from being married to a hometown hero to being wed to convict in just a short three years.

Hernandez now stands accused of the murder of Lloyd and more questions than answers have come up about how he could have fallen so far. The star signed a $40 million contract and was one of the best young players in football, but his past always was right behind him and clearly it got the best of him once again. Lloyd's body was found less than a mile from the home of Hernandez and now he could be facing life in prison for the crime. Hernandez was released by the Patriots and his NFL career is likely over and now he is being held in solitary confinement as he awaits trial, as the jail felt it was best for him and the general population to keep him isolated.
