After being placed in solitary confinement last week for his own safety in jail after being arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd and prison officials agreed to keep him there as they feel it is the best place to keep the former Patriots tight end safe.

According to SI.com, local officials felt that it was best for Hernandez to remain in solitary confinement after his June 26 arrest, as some inmates may see him as a "prize" and could go after him to gain some sort of notoriety or fame. Hernandez was held along after he was booked and after jail officials met to speak about his situation, they decided that it would remain the best option to keep him where he is and away from the general population.

The report says that Hernandez has been adjusting well to jail and that so far there has not been any issues pertaining to him acting out or anything related to that. TMZ reported that Hernandez has been receiving visitors regularly, although it is now known if his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins and baby have been coming or how much. The source did not release any names of the visitors and that is unlikely to go public unless someone leaks it.

Hernandez is dealing with a number of new issues since a report was made public this week, as the evidence against him, while circumstantial, is starting to build up, including the fact that one of his accomplices has fingered him as the shooter. Odin Lloyd was allegedly with Hernandez the night of the murder and his body was found just a mile from his home in Attleboro. Police executed search warrants for his mansion, car, surveillance system and other areas and found a ton of evidence, including clothing, shell casings, ammo and other items.

Jenkins was mentioned in the report as well as she was first talking to police after Hernandez was being questioned, but soon after she was told to stop on advice from his agents. Hernandez initially was agitated by the police and didn't answer questions before being brought in by Jenkins to the station, which came before he was arrested. The arrest was stunning and the Patriots decided to cut him soon after it occurred and right before he was charged with first degree murder in the death of Lloyd.
