India will look for a second straight win over Sri Lanka when the two sides meet in the final of the tri-series Thursday.

Virat Kohli and co. were in brilliant form in a rain-curtailed match against the Lankans, posting a huge victory in a must-win game to propel India to the final.

Now come the summit clash at the Queen's Park Oval, India will again look for another commanding performance against their neighbors.

"To bounce back like this and finish at the top of the table is a commendable effort," Kohli said. "I am very proud of the team. We have shown a lot of character.

"When three good teams are playing in the tournament, anything can happen. We were never bothered about the rain delays. Our performance showed what happens when one executes their plans properly."

The Indian bowlers, particularly Bhuvneshwar Kumar, came to the fore in the must-win game on Tuesday after India's innings was cut short by rain with Duckworth-Lewis then coming into play.

"When Rohit (Sharma) and I were playing, we just wanted to play ourselves in," Kohli said of facing a tough pitch. "It paid in the end, because we had wickets in hand, and it worked in the D/L calculations in our favour. Then the bowlers responded beautifully. Full credit to them."

Sri Lanka were forced to play three days in a row owing to the fact that their previous game against the West Indies had to be carried forward to the rest day due to rain. Skipper Angelo Mathews hopes his side can recover from the heavy loss to the Indians and come out fighting in the final.

"We bowled well, but when we batted the pitch had been under covers and had sweated more," Mathews said. "We had nothing to lose and went for the win.

"It's mentally and physically draining to play three days in a row. We have played some good cricket to get to the final, hopefully we can beat India on Thursday."
