Roberto Martinez's policy of bringing in former Wigan players shows no sign of stopping with Everton confirming the signings of Antolin Alcaraz and Joel Robles.

Alcaraz joins the club on a free transfer after his contract at Wigan expired this summer, while Robles, who was on loan with the Latics last season from Atletico Madrid, moves for an undisclosed fee.

New Everton manager Martinez has already signed Arouna Kone from Wigan, and Alcaraz and Robles makes it three former Wigan players in a couple of days.

"Roberto Martinez has secured his second signing as Everton manager with the capture of Paraguayan international Antolin Alcaraz," the club said in a statement on their official website.

"The experienced central defender has signed a two-year deal with the Blues after his contract with Wigan expired.

"He has been granted a work permit and follows Arouna Kone in switching to the Blues this summer."

The 30-year-old Paraguayan international made a total of 68 appearances in three years at Wigan, but was the victim of a serious injury for much of last season.

Robles, who was a part of the Spain squad which lifted the UEFA European Under-21 Championship title, made 13 appearances on loan at Wigan last season, with Atletico confirming the deal with Everton on their website.

"Atletico Madrid and Everton have reached an agreement for the transfer of Joel Robles to the English club," the statement said.

"The goalkeeper, who ended last season playing on loan at Wigan, will compete in the Premier League following the agreement reached between the three parties.

"In our club we wish him luck in this new stage of his career."

Robles signed a five-year deal with Everton and will act as the backup to experienced American international Tim Howard.

"Everton have completed the signing of talented goalkeeper Joel Robles," the club said.

"The 23-year-old glovesman arrives at Goodison Park from Atletico Madrid on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee."
