Cavaliers Rumors: Cleveland Targets Andrew Bynum In Free Agency As Jarrett Jack Signs Four-Year Deal, Dallas Mavericks, Hawks Interested In Former Lakers Center

The Cleveland Cavaliers were lucky enough to get the number one pick in the NBA draft this year despite not having the worst record in the league and after drafting Anthony Bennett the team is adding more depth to the roster, signing Jarrett Jack as a free agent while also targeting Andrew Bynum.

According to ESPN.com, Bynum is a prime target for the Cavs, as they passed on Nerlens Noel with the number one overall pick in the draft and now need another center. The Mavericks are also going hard after Bynum despite the fact that he missed all last season with a knee injury while with the Sixers and he is expected to get offers for one year deals due to that injury issue. The Cavs have plenty of cap space to work with in 2014 and that could be why they will offer Bynum a one-year deal over other teams like Dallas.

The attention on Bynum is coming after the Mavericks missed out on Dwight Howard and the team could go for him after looking at all the angles and evaluating his efforts over the past few seasons. Bynum is just 25 despite the injury, but that could continue to affect him after he didn't play a minute last season. The Hawks are also interested in Bynum, but they may not have enough money to spend on him after going for other free agent targets. Bynum is an attractive player after he averaged 18.7 points per game and 11.8 rebounds for the Lakers the last time he played and now he could end up being one of the top free agent options past Howard.

The Cavs added to their offense by signing away Jack from the Warriors, giving him a four-year deal worth over $20 million according to ESPN.com, The Warriors went after free agent Andre Iguodala instead of Jack, leaving him to sign with another team and now after playing with stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, he will get the chance to work with Kyrie Irving, Bennett and Dion Waiters. The Cavs also signed earl Clark to a deal to add depth to the back court.

Jack likely won't start for the team and after averaging 12.9 points and 5.6 assists for the Warriors, he will be looking to do even better. Jack was key for the team as they made their way through the playoffs last season and proved that he could be a consistent scoring option.
