Andy Murray will look to seal a place in the semifinals of Wimbledon when he takes on Fernando Verdasco in the quarterfinals at Centre Court Wednesday.

Murray has been in good form this year and looks on course for the final, but with Verdasco playing as good as he has ever done on the grass courts, the Scot will need to put complacency in the backburner.

"Verdasco is a very, very good tennis player," Murray said. "Very good at tennis. He's playing very well this week. He's extremely dangerous when he's on his game. Yeah, that's it. I mean, Verdasco's a very good tennis player.

Murray will be playing against a left-hander for the first time this year and reckons quite a bit of practise with a left-handed player might be in order ahead of the match against Verdasco.

"I haven't played a left-hander the whole year, which I think is pretty amazing six months into the year," he said. "So, yeah, I'll try and get a lefty in to serve at me.

"I don't normally mind the way the ball comes off the racket from the back of the court. I grew up playing with my brother.

"So that almost feels a bit more natural to me than a righty. But it's just the serve is what's different and the way you move on the return that's different. I'll have to make sure I hit a lot of returns (in training)."

Verdasco might be the underdog going into the match and will definitely have almost every single member in the crowd against him, but the 29-year-old believes he is capable of pulling off what would be a stunning upset.

"My first quarters," Verdasco said. "I'm happy to be here. I'm happy how I played the whole tournament. In the next match is going to be just one more match for me. Of course, is going to be a special match because is going to be against Murray here in Wimbledon in quarterfinals.

"But, I mean, I'm going to go out there and try to do my game like I did every match and like I try to do every match that I play. But I know is going to be, of course, a tough match.

"He's No. 2 of the tournament. He's a great player, one of the best players in the last years on tour. You know, of course is going to be difficult to beat him also with the crowd and everything.

"I mean, you need to have faith and try your best to try to win."
