Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash And Mike D'Antoni All To Meet Howard Separately; Decision About Free Agency To Be Made On Friday

Jul 03, 2013 11:59 AM EDT

Dwight Howard's highly anticipated meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers featured a pitch team that included Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and Mike D'Antoni, who all had their own private meetings with this year's highly sought out free agent, according to ESPN Los Angeles' Ramona Shelburne.

This should be the best news for Lakers fans because the fact that Bryant, Nash and D'Antoni were all able to have their own "honest" conversations with Howard is promising. Surely some topics that they could have discussed included defensive assignments and of course the amount of touches he'll receive on the offensive end.

Howard obviously wants an increased role with the franchise, and with Bryant being out at least until November or December, there's no better time to assert himself as "the guy" the Lakers will look to lead them in the years to come.

Reportedly, Howard will be ready to announce his free-agent decision on Friday according to NBA Insider Peter Vecsey via Twitter:

Although there's really no telling what Howard is thinking, being that he's opted to not discuss his future with the media, the Houston Rockets still appear to be the clear favorite for Howard on Friday, but his infamous indecisiveness could bold well for a return to the purple and gold or heading to one of the other three teams that met with him.

Either way at least the "Dwightmare" will finally come to an end Friday.
