Tim Tebow Rumors: Aaron Hernandez Was Key Teammate For Quarterback During 2008 University of Florida Gators National Championship, Gang Tattoos Early Sign Of Problems?

Tim Tebow is now a quarterback on the New England Patriots and after his former Florida Gators teammate Aaron Hernandez was arrested for murder, the team released him, ending the second stint as teammates for the two.

Hernandez was a key part of the Florida championship run in 2008 over the Oklahoma Sooners and helped the team get a 13-1 record and a BCS title Tebow was a Heisman winner in college and Hernandez was one of his most reliable targets, making over 90 catches during his final two seasons with the team. During that championship he was a prime player and a sophomore and he made 34 catches for 381 yards and five touchdowns that season.

Hernandez ran into troubles in Florida, including with gang members and he also was investigated in a shooting and got into a bar fight with a bouncer. There were reports of drug use and failed tests, but head coach Urban Meyer was able to straighten him out for some time, helping him to later win the John Mackey Award as the best tight end and also had him at his home for Bible Study.

Tebow is a straight edge and virtuous man and while the two were teammates, off the field they had many differences and that is why Hernandez is in a jail cell and Tebow is still on the roster. Hernandez was arrested and arraigned for the murder on Wednesday and charged with first degree murder and other gun charges. He has been described as the leader behind the murder and shell casings were traced back to him by police.

Hernandez has a fiancé and a young daughter and now he may spend the rest of his life in jail, while Tebow has yet to say anything publically about his Florida teammate. Tebow was a good soldier with the Jets before getting released and then he signed with the Pats, which looked like the media story of the summer. Now that Hernandez is arrested, things have changed and the team quickly released him despite giving him a $40 million contract extension. Clearly they missed signs about his past and now they will move on without the star on the team.
