A deal to bring Simon Mignolet from Sunderland to Liverpool is still not completed, according to the goalkeeper's agent Guy Vandermissen.

Liverpool are thought to have agreed a fee of around £11 million ($17 million) with Sunderland and a move is expected to be ratified soon.

However, Vandermissen insisted he is yet to receive word of a transfer from either club.

"We hope that there can be a deal and he can go to Liverpool," he said.

"If you go from Sunderland to Liverpool it is a big step forward. You have to make decisions at certain times."

If Mignolet does complete a move to Anfield, he will have to fight for his place in the starting lineup with Pepe Reina, who again reiterated his desire to remain with Liverpool come next season.

"It has not changed a bit," Reina, who is with the Spain squad at the Confederations Cup, told reporters. "I have said it many times, I'm very comfortable and very happy at Liverpool.

"Every team needs competitors, and when it's positive it is more than welcome. If it is finally done I'll welcome him a lot, and anything he needs, I'm here."

Reina has been linked with a move back to Barcelona, with Victor Valdes possible leaving, if not this summer, then definitely the next.

Vandermissen said Mignolet will not be worried about competition from Reina, despite the Sunderland goalkeeper desperate for game time next season with the 2014 World Cup just around the corner.

"I know the qualities of Simon and he can cope with any competition, it is no problem," he added.

Liverpool will not be playing in Europe next season, but Vandermissen is not too concerned about that fact. "When you play Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal every week, this is European football, so what is the problem?"

If Mignolet does complete a move to Liverpool, he will become the Reds' fourth signing of the summer, with Brendan Rodger already sealing deals for Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto.
