NHL Playoffs Schedule: Stanley Cup Finals Game 5 Shifts Back To Chicago As Blackhawks Look For 3-2 Lead Against Boston Bruins

Jun 20, 2013 12:22 PM EDT

The Chicago Blackhawks were in another tough situation when Game 4 went to overtime at 5-5, but being down 2-1 to the Boston Bruins in the series sparked them to the 6-5 victory after Brent Seabrook's goal and with the series tied 2-2 it will shift back to Chicago for Game 5.

The Blackhawks were desperate for a win and for some scoring after being shutout 2-0 by Tuukka Rask in Game 3 and after not scoring since the previous game's first period, the Blackhawks needed an offensive output and they got that on Wednesday. The team scored goals from six different players, with Seabrook scoring the winner, just like he did in Game 7 against the Red Wings.

The team also got goals from Michal Handzus, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp as well as Jonathan Towes, who was shutout for the series prior to Game 4 and now he looks as if he is heating up. It was only his second goal of the playoffs and it came at a great time for the Blackhawks, as they needed this win badly. The goaltenders still made some big plays down the stretch and in overtime despite letting in five goals each in regulation and it was Corey Crawford this time who won out.

Crawford finished with 28 saves, while Chicago bombarded Rask with 41 saves and they were able to score six goals on him after being shutout for so long. Rask came into the series after holding the Penguins to two goals and he has been stellar all playoffs, but now that it's 2-2, it may come down to the men in net. The game was 1-1 after the first and then the two teams exploded for five goals, with Chicago scoring three in the second before the Bruins were able to tie it up in the third.

The Bruins got goals from Patrice Bergeron, who had two for his eighth and ninth of the postseason, while Johnny Boychuk and Milan Lucic also scored. The series looked even before it started and now that it is four games in and three have gone to overtime, it can't get much more of a tossup than that. Chicago now has the advantage for home ice again with two of the next three at home, but Game 5 will be a very important test to see if they can take the lead again.

Game 6: Mon, June 24, at Bos, 8 p.m. ET, NBC

Game 7: Wed, June 26, at Chi, 8 p.m. ET, NBC
