NBA Standings 2013: LeBron James Says 'I'm Not Supposed To Be Here' As Decisive Game 7 Is In Sight

Jun 20, 2013 08:50 AM EDT

After a thrilling Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Game 7 promises to be just as exciting as the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat do battle one last time in a do-or-die situation for the NBA championship.

On Wednesday, Miami's LeBron James spoke to the media about the large expectations placed on him and the outspoken critics who speak on him at every turn.

"It is what it is," James says. "That's OK."

James added:

"[The criticism] won't stop me from loving the game, playing at a high level, doing it for my teammates, putting that uniform on."

Games started Game 6 a little shakily, but rallied his Heat teammates to go on a 22-9 run, ending his night with 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. However, despite his individual numbers and his portrayal by the media, James has a much broader view of the current situation.

"I'm blessed, man," says James. "I don't even know how I got here.  I wasn't supposed to be in the NBA, if you go by statistics and things of me growing up where I grew up.

"Every time I go into my locker room and see the JAMES on the back of an NBA jersey, I'm like, Wow. No criticism can deter me from playing this game because of that. I'm not supposed to be here. The fact that I'm doing what I'm doing and doing it for my teammates, it's all that matters."

Game 7 is set to tip at 9:10 p.m., on Thursday night, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
