NBA Draft 2013 Rumors: Nerlens Noel Visits Cleveland Cavaliers as Victor Oladipo Likely Top Selection, Dan Gilbert Considers Trade Option of No. 1 Pick

Nerlens Noel once seemed a lock to be the No. 1overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. The Kentucky star has been scouted as the best player available in a draft that features rather weak talent, but as the draft creeps closer and closer, it seems less likely that Noel is a guarantee for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team is bringing in Noel for a visit, but also has their sights set on other options.

The Cavaliers have the top pick in the draft so naturally they want to meet the top prospect. Cleveland has been watching Noel for some time now. They have kept a close eye on him during his freshman year in the NCAA and even with the torn ACL he suffered midway through the season, Noel still appears to be on top of the boards. He will be at the Cavaliers' facilities on June 20.

The Cavaliers are considering a number of options with what to do with the top pick. Considering Noel is still rehabbing his repaired knee, there is not much the Cavaliers can seem from him. This has caused the tam to look at other areas, including other top prospects and a possible trade of the pick.

ESPN's Chad Ford reports that Indiana Hoosiers' junior Victor Oladipo is moving up the draft boards and could jump Noel as the top pick. The 6-4 star is known for being a strong defensive presence with a lot of athleticism. Both the Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic, currently selecting No. 2, are very interested in Oladipo and the potential he offers. Oladipo is essentially a lock to be taken in the top 5 picks, but has moved into the conversation for being No. 1.

The Cavaliers are not set on using the No. 1 pick. The team is in a win-now mentality and is unsure if bringing another rookie onto roster is the best option. Owner Dan Gilbert is considering the option of trading the top pick for an established player in the league. DeMarcus Cousins has been the name mainly brought up in the trade rumors.

Noel is preparing for a fall from grace in case the Cavaliers are worried about his knee or his playing abilities. He has already met with the Washington Wizards and is scheduling a visit to the Orlando Magic. His agents are preparing him for anything on draft day.
