EPL Transfer News: Celtic Reject Hooper Bid from Hull City as Toivonen Claims He is Unaware of Interest from Norwich

Celtic have reportedly rejected a bid for their striker Gary Hooper, while Ola Toivonen said he is unaware of interest from Norwich City or any other club in the English Premier League.

Hooper has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, and quite a few English clubs have shown an interest in the 25-year-old, who had a really good season with Celtic.

Newly-promoted Hull City reportedly tabled a bid of around £4 million ($6 million) for Hooper, which Celtic, despite the striker only having a year remaining on his contract, rejected outright.

The likes of Norwich and Southampton have also been linked with moves, with the Canaries failing with multiple bids in the January transfer window.

Celtic would prefer to tie down Hooper to a new deal, but it is understood the English striker prefers a move to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Toivonen has admitted he knows nothing of reported interest from Norwich.

Reports in the Netherlands earlier this week claimed Norwich had agreed a fee with PSV for the forward, and Toivonen was asked if he knew anything about the move after helping Sweden to a win over the Faroe Islands.

"I really do not know -- what I have at home is not the right TV channels," he said. "I only have Canal Digital, so I have not seen a Premier League match this year.

"So I can tell you very little about Norwich City.

"I have already said that it is an interesting competition, the Premier League, but it is about what the club is all about. That plays an important role. I do not like too many high balls."

West Brom are also reportedly keeping tabs on Toivonen and the 26-year-old said he would decide consider all the offers on the table once he finishes his international stint.

"I have not thought about it and did not hear about," he added.

"I was only concerned with the match for Sweden. (This week) I'm going to talk about it and reflect."
