Tiger Woods is one of the favorites heading into the 113th U.S. Open championship at Merion Golf Club and despite the fact that he is coming off a bad tournament, all reporters could ask about at his Tuesday press conference was about Sergio Garcia and the apology that wasn't.

Report's said that Garcia came up to Woods on the driving range on Monday and the two p[layers shook hands and spoke for a moment, but Woods mentioned to reporters that so far there hasn't been time for an apology. The whole drama stemmed from the Players Championship when Woods possibly distracted Garcia during a shot and after some back and forth, it appeared as if things were settled.

The real issue came up later at the Euro Tour awards dinner, where Garcia made a racist remark about "fried chicken" while making a joke and after apologizing to reporters and in a press conference, the tournament at Merion was the first chance for the two to be face to face since. Garcia approached Woods at the driving range and they shook hands, but Woods said that the two have not had time to talk and have not had time to work out an apology from Garcia.

Woods said he has put the whole issue behind him and that he is focusing on the U.S. Open that starts on Thursday. Woods said the comments were hurtful but he is not letting it distract him as he tries to break hi major drought after winning the Open back in 2008. Woods has a star grouping to start the tournament, as he will be with the two ranked players behind him at number one in Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott.

The three tee off just after 1 PM on Thursday and many will be excited to watch the first two rounds with them together. Woods is looking for his first major win in 2013 after coming in the top five at the Masters and he already has won four times on tour this year, including at the previously mentioned Players Championship.
