The French Open is over and with Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams as champions, it's time to look towards the next Grand Slam on the schedule at Wimbledon and there is no reason to think why the two champions at Roland Garros can't make it two in a row when things pick up in two weeks.

Nadal had an epic semifinals match that was a rematch of last year's final at the French after going five sets with Novak Djokovic and then he made quick work of friend and fellow Spaniard David Ferrer, winning in the slight rain 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 before being handed the trophy from Olympic champion Usain Bolt. Nadal was visibly emotional after winning his eighth career French Open title, a record for the tournament and for any one player at any major.

Nadal is now an astounding 59-1 at the tournament in his career and the win came at a good time, as he was out for seven months with knee injuries last year, but now he appears healthy. Nadal won a major and become the first player to win one after missing the previous two Grand Slams and now he has a good chance to add another to his mantle as the schedule hits the All-England club. Djokovic and Ferrer will be ready and have some momentum heading in, while Andy Murray will be back in the lineup as well after missing out due to an injury at Roland Garros.

Nadal now is by far the best player on clay of all-time and he may find himself in a position of his own once his career is done and now he has won a record amount of Slams at one event. Serena Williams has made a near mockery of women's tennis this year while going on a career-best winning streak and she has shown no signs of slowing down, which is why she is expected to win at the All-England club once again. She defeated Maria Sharapova, who continued her struggles against Serena, and now she will be the favorite once the tournament picks up.

Funny enough for Nadal, he dropped one spot in the rankings since Ferrer made it to the finals and while he said winning was better than his place, he will be fine for seeding at Wimbledon, as they do not go by the rankings anyway. Nadal has been excellent at Wimbledon in the past and he has won twice and made it to the finals three other times. Last year he was injured and lost in the second round and that was hit last match before returning earlier this year.

Williams and Nadal look unstoppable as the schedule turns and after Williams had 40 winners in 66 points she will be ready for more come later in June. Nadal is back to form and Djokovic will be ready for some revenge for the French.
